Published

on

iron-bartender-drinkThe Art-er Limits Fringe Fest will kick off Thursday night with one of the most popular events of the festival, the Iron Bartender. The Iron Bartender is a competition that pits local celebrity bartenders against each other to create the most interesting and crowd pleasing cocktail.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening and will bring 10 bartenders from around Oxford together at the Powerhouse. Before the event begins each bartender will be given a basket of “secret ingredients” and will have 30 minutes to create a unique cocktail. Guests at the event may sample any and all cocktails throughout the event. The winning bartender will be chosen, after much sampling, by audience vote.
The ingredients in each basket will be sponsored by Cathead Vodka and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. The baskets may include any assortment or combination of Cathead Pecan, Cathead Honeysuckle, Cathead Vodka, Bristow Gin, Lunazul Tequila, Blackheart Premium Spiced Rum, Elijah Craig Bourbon, and Rittenhouse Rye Whiskey.
The competing bartenders are from 10 local bars and restaurants and include:
-Andrea Fitts from Oxford University Club
-Jake Loyer from Jinsei Sushi
-Allyson Cartwright from The Wine Bar
-Ivy McLellan from Snackbar
-Joe Stinchcomb from Saint Leo
-Mason Payne from Green Roof Lounge
-Aaron Hamilton and Glover from The Summit
-Jesse Thomas from Nautical Whimsey
-Chip Moore from The Coop
-Joe Bittick from McEwen’s Oxford
The event is scheduled to conclude at 8 pm, at which time the winning bartender will be announced. To learn more about the Art-er Limits Fringe Fest, event line up, or how to purchase tickets, visit here
