LHS All-American Cheerleaders Headed To Disney World This Thanksgiving

Two Lafayette High School cheerleaders, Gabbie Hunter and Ally Bryan, are headed to Orlando, Florida this Thanksgiving, but they’re not just going for vacation. The pair of Commodores are two of more than 500 junior high and high school cheerleaders selected to represent Varsity Spirit in the 2017 Thanksgiving Tour at Walt Disney World on Thanksgiving Day.
Hunter and Bryan, along with all the others picked to perform in the parade, were selected as UCA All-Americans because of the skills they portrayed at Varsity Spirit Camps this summer.  Only the top 10 percent of cheerleaders from the camps are selected for this particular performance, so this is an incredible achievement for both girls as well as for Lafayette High School.
Hunter and Bryan will perform with the Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a unique, pre-parade performance at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park on Thanksgiving Day.  Not only that, but the girls will get to meet cheerleaders from all around the country and enjoy a magical Disney Vacation.
Both Hunter and Bryan are incoming freshmen at Lafayette High School and are on the LHS Varsity Sideline and LHS Competition teams. These cheerleaders are not only hard-working, dedicated athletes, but Coach Avery Lorick also says they are “a class act” because they understand that “success is as much about how you are as a person as it is talent.”
Gabbie and Ally always do the best they can,” Lorick said. “They pursue excellence in everything that they do. They never just go through the motions. They are fully invested in practices and games. What sets these two young ladies apart is that they pay attention to all the important details. They focus on technique. They would tell you that it’s the little things you do in practice that ultimately make the biggest difference.”
With the support from Coach Lorick and the rest of the LHS Cheerleading Team, both girls are honored and excited to represent Lafayette High School, Oxford, and Lafayette County at Disney World this Thanksgiving.
