Panhandling, Improper Parking And More In Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Eight alarms, ambulance assist, animal complaints, three civil matter, two disturbing the peace, improper parking, malicious mischief, panhandling, two recovered property, two scam, shoplifting, simple assault, two suspicious activity, five suspicious persons, trespassing, two welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 10 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
2 DUI 1st
DUI 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
4 Public Drunks
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Five alarms, residential burglary, harassment, juvenile complaint, malicious mischief, two service calls, two suspicious activity/persons, welfare concerns, transports, information, follow up, reckless driving.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department:
Workers cleaning up sheet rock dust activated a smoke detector at the Jackson Avenue Center.
Working in a lab activated the smoke detector at Williams Engineering.
Police Dept. requested FD to come reset alarm at Elsoly Lab.
Mulch very close to a building was smoldering at Uncommon 514 Jackson Ave. East.
A gas grill in the pool area caught fire at the Domain.
University Police: Suspicious vehicle, three vehicle stop
