Northwest Mississippi Community College rising sophomore Therrell Gosier II has been invited to Mullen’s JC Top 100 Camp, a premier invitation-only showcase of some of the nations’ top junior college basketball prospects.
“This is a great honor for Therrell and he is very deserving,” Northwest head coach Bubba Skelton said. “He performed very well last season for us and we expect a huge year from him this season. This camp is known as the top summer showcase for junior college basketball and I think he will prove that he is a potential All-American.”
The annual event will be held July 21-23 in Wichita, Kan., at the brand new, state-of-the-art Wichita Hoops facility, which features 12 basketball courts all under one roof and the top players from all over the country. This event will also feature 112 premiere summer club teams nationwide.
The Pompano Beach, Fla., native averaged 10.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as a freshman off the bench with three double-doubles and a career-high 27 against Itawamba. He added 26 blocks, 23 assists and 13 steals while shooting a team-high 57 percent from the floor.
Prior to Northwest, Gosier starred at Blanche Ely High School where he helped the Tigers to a 28-1 record as a senior, with the only loss coming in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Nationals to powerhouse Findlay Prep. He averaged 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, collected 10 double-doubles and helped lead his team to the 2014-15 FHSAA Class 7A State Championship and a No. 7 national ranking by MaxPreps. Gosier was named Broward County Player of the Year and Class 7A State MVP.
Gosier also played football at Blanche Ely and held offers from numerous FBS schools, including Miami, Clemson, Alabama, West Virginia and Kentucky.
