EatingOxford: Arby’s Comes to Oxford

Published

on

The same day that HottyToddy.com’s story ran about Back Yard Burgers closing, I received an email from Frank Dyer, III, a Realtor with Memphis-based Loeb Realty Group, who is also working on another new development, South Lamar Court. Dyer said that he had information about Back Yard Burgers new tenants.
“McGil Holdings out of Springfield, Missouri, has signed a contract to open an Arby’s in the space,” said Dyer. “It’s not defined who in Oxford will be running it yet.”
Dyer said that closing on the real estate transaction will take around three months, and then an extensive rehab will take place in order to make the space fit into Arby’s current prototype.
Founded in Ohio in 1964, there are currently 3,346 Arby’s locations in 48 states and five countries, according to the company website. There are 23 stores in Mississippi, with the closest being New Albany, Hernando and Tupelo.
