Denver Broncos third-string quarterback Chad Kelly received straight-forward advice from his Hall of Fame quarterback uncle Jim Kelly.
While Chad continues to recover from a right wrist and ACL injuries, Jim gave his nephew a preliminary guideline to make a good first impression.
“Shut your mouth, work extremely hard and be the first one in there, last one to leave,” Kelly said his uncle told him on NFL Network.
Drafted as Mr. Irrelevant in the 2017 NFL Draft, Kelly is entrenched as Denver’s No. 3 quarterback while he watches Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch battle it out for the Broncos’ starting position.
The Broncos wanted to add a No. 3 quarterback this offseason and Kelly became their man in the draft. Kelly’s injuries forced him out of action for OTAs and minicamp, but he is targeting training camp for his return to the field.
Jim Kelly also shared an instagram video mentioning how proud he was of his nephew.
