Oxford police responded to the following calls: 911 abuse, 30 alarms, ambulance assist, five animal complaints, auto larceny, four careless driving, four civil matters, code enforcement, 10 discharging fireworks in city limits, eight disturbing the peace, five domestic disturbance, embezzlement, four fire department assist, forgery, improper parking, littering, lost property, five malicious mischief, five motor assist, no child restraint, no driver’s license, no liability insurance, petit larceny, possession of drug paraphernalia, property damage, three public drunk, Residential Burglary-Forced, three residential burglary—non-forced, two seatbelt violations, three shoplifting, simple assault, seven suspicious activity, seven suspicious persons, two suspicious vehicles, trespassing, 11 welfare concerns.
Oxford police investigated 18 wrecks, issued 107 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Five accidents, four simple assaults, 10 alarms, two animal complaints, 19 disturbances, two domestic violences, grand larceny, three petit larceny, three harassment, four malicious mischief, 21 service calls, 12 suspicious activities, vandalism, seven welfare concerns, three information, follow up, two unauthorized use of vehicle, two traffic complaints, reckless driving, civil matter, five fireworks complaints, dog stealing, armed robbery.

6/30 – 12:05 – The Chancellor House Laundry and Spa building – steam from ironing table activated the smoke detector
6/30 – 13:54 – Kroger – medical assist – patient thought she was having a panic attack
6/30 – 18:52 – 110 Vivian Street – smell of gas – slight smell around the meter
7/01 – 01:12 – Old Taylor Road – wreck call canceled
7/02 – 00:08 – University Trails Bldg. 6 – someone pulled the fire alarm as a prank and broke the handle
7/02 – 04:05 – 118 Chinkapin Loop – general alarm malfunction
7/02 – 12:25 and 13:49 – The Chancellor House Laundry and Spa Building – hot water hose broke and steam activated smoke detector
7/02 – 16:28 – Oxford Square North – extinguishing sternos activated a smoke detector
7/03 – 01:17 – Sheriff’s Department Sally Port – assisted male subject complaining of chest pains
7/03 – 08:31 – Chi Omega House – call canceled
7/03 – 09:01 – The Chancellor House Laundry and Spa Bldg. – hot water line broke again activating the smoke detector
7/03 – 16:41 – Phi Kappa Psi house – someone smoking on the 2nd floor activated a smoke detector
7/03 – 16:51 – 2584 Harris Drive – medical assist
7/03 – 19:01 – 313 Manor Drive – resident was cooking and activated the smoke detector
7/03 – 19:06 – 2890 South Lamar – smoke and heat sensors malfunction
7/03 – 22:21 – 1801 West Jackson Ave. – wreck – ambulance refusal
7/04 – 00:28 and 04:20 – Chick Fil-A – fumigating activated smoke detector
7/04 – 02:18, 04:04, 05:12, 05:52 – The Chancellor House – basement elevator smoke detector malfunction
7/04 – 10:02 – 110 Phillip Road – workers hit a gas line – stood by for Center Point Energy
7/04 – 13:30 – State Veterans Home – resident pulled a fire alarm
7/04- 18:12 – Student Health Services – 2nd floor stairwell smoke detector malfunction
7/04 – 22:04 – 139 Peyton Circle – call cancelled
University Police: Ambulance needed, four suspicious person, five traffic assist, two vehicle stops, information call, two motor vehicle accidents, grand larceny, petit larceny, public drunk, intoxicated person, possession of drug paraphernalia.
