Drew Landers Named Coordinator Of Basketball Operations
Ole Miss head coach Matt Insell announced the addition of Drew Landers to his staff on Wednesday. Landers, a graduate of Ole Miss, will serve as Coordinator of Basketball Operations.
“It’s great having Drew Landers join our program,” said Insell. “I’ve known Drew for a long time and he’s someone I have a lot of respect for. Our families know each other and both of us have somewhat grown up in this game. His work ethic, drive, passion and enthusiasm for the game of women’s basketball are what we want around our program and we’re happy to have him here. Drew is a graduate of Ole Miss and to be able to bring an Ole Miss alum back to work in our program means a lot. He’s going to do great things and we’re looking forward to having Rebel Nation get to know Drew.”
Landers comes back to Oxford after spending the 2016-17 season serving as a video coordinator with the Virginia women’s basketball team under the direction of Joanne Boyle.
“I am extremely appreciative of the opportunity to return to my alma mater and to work with such a talented and dynamic coaching staff,” said Landers. “I appreciate the confidence Coach Insell has in my ability to help him, his staff and especially the student athletes achieve at the highest level. I look forward to working with all of the Ole Miss family.”
Landers worked as an intern in the Southeastern Conference office before taking a yearlong internship with Georgia basketball, working with both the men’s and women’s programs. Prior to joining Boyle’s staff, Landers worked for the Orange Bowl committee, serving as the ambassador program assistant where he managed all aspects of the Orange Bowl’s volunteer program.
Landers is the son of longtime Georgia women’s basketball coach and current ESPN/SEC Network analyst, Andy Landers.
