Shoplifting, Bomb Threat And More In Weekend's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Other agency assist, suspicious vehicle, three civil matters, three reported DUI, counterfeit currency, three petit larceny, bomb threat, credit card fraud, five welfare concern, two animal complaints, improper parking, eight suspicious activities, five disturbing the peace, nine alarms, domestic disturbance, six suspicious persons, fire department assist, two recovered property, two malicious mischief, shoplifting, two harassing phone calls, simple assault.
Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 30 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
3 Public Drunk
Speeding and DUI
Expired Tag and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (post arrest citation)
Speeding, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Schedule II Drug and DUI
Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct – Fail to Comply, Resisting Arrest and Public Drunk
Warrant Served
Malicious Mischief, Disorderly Conduct – Fail to Comply, Simple Assault and Resisting Arrest
Careless Driving and DUI
Shoplifting
Speeding, No Proof of Liability Insurance, No Driving License and DUI
DUI (wreck)
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Five accidents, alarm, four animal complaints, commercial burglary, 11 disturbances, three domestic violence, two petit larceny, six harassment, two juvenile complaints, 23 service calls, four suspicious activities, four welfare concerns, transport, five civil matters, three traffic complaints, eight follow up.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made four arrests
domestic violence, aggravated assault
possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell warrant
trespassing and burglary warrant
traffic stop arrest, possession of paraphernalia
Oxford Fire Department:
Wreck with entrapment on Hwy. 7 South.
A bomb scare no bomb found at CVS Pharmacy.
Drop in water pressure to have the alarm by the sprinkler system at Faser Hall.
Cooking activated the kitchen smoke detector at the Oxford Country Club.
A smoke detector malfunction at 2921 South Lamar.
Oven element shorted out at Campus Walk building D apt. 303.
Put out a dumpster fire at 41 Rubin Drive.
University Police: Four assist with traffic, disturbance, unlawful entry, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct,loud noise, accident hit and run, vehicle stop.
