Vehicle Burglary, Reckless Drivers And More In Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Five alarms, four welfare concerns, motorist assist, petit larceny, three reports of lost property, two fire department assists, two domestic disturbances, vehicle burglary (2500 Block of Jackson), malicious mischief, two 911 hang-up, two shoplifting, two suspicious persons, improper parking, animal complaint, three disturbing the peace, suspicious activity, reported DUI.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 13 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
Ran Red Light and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (post arrest citation)
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: Accident, animal complaint, six disturbances, harassment, juvenile complaint, six service calls, five suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, two trespassing, three civil matters, littering / dumping, two reckless driving, two follow up, road obstruction, court detail, credit card fraud.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made one arrests
failure to report sales tax (3 counts)
Oxford Fire Department:
Construction workers hit a gas line – stood by for Center Point Energy 1200 Johnson Avenue.
Air handling unit malfunction in room 211 at Conner Hall.
Extension cord caught the flowerbed on fire at 408 Van Buren.
Report of someone feeling light headed call unfound — Taco Bell said they knew nothing of the call at Taco Bell.
Water pressure drop caused the water flow alarm activation at Kincannon Hall.
Heavy spray of air freshener activated the smoke detector in room 109 of Brown Hall.
University Police: Accident property damage, accident hit n run, two vehicle stops, suspicious person, simple assault, assist with traffic, bicycles larceny, harassing telephone calls, ambulance needed.
