Update: Power Restored After Transformer Failure Causes Outage
UPDATE: Power has been restored. The outage was caused by a transformer failure on the circuit according to Superintendent of Oxford Electic, Robert Neely.
Oxford Electric is currently working to fix a problem causing an outage across Oxford which is currently affecting Jackson Avene and several other areas.

Superintendent of Oxford Electic, Robert Neely told HottyToddy.com that an investigation into the outage is underway but it is unclear how long the power will be out.
“We’re investigating now to determine the cause. Don’t know when we’ll be able to restore yet, as it depends on whether there’s a broken pole, dead tree across the line or just a limb. We’re walking and riding out the entire circuit from Old Taylor Road to West Oxford Loop,” Neely said.
OPD has tweeted out advice for those on the road dealing with traffic light outages.
Use intersections as 4 way stops. Use caution & patience until we get the power back.
