Double Decker Crowd Leads To High Number Of Traffic Violations; Weekend Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: 11 improper parking, two fire department assist, 18 alarm, two residential burglary, vehicle burglary, two domestic disturbances, two harassing phone calls, six petit larceny, 12 suspicious activity, two reports of lost property, 30 disturbing the peace, eight welfare concerns, 10 reported DUI, four simple assaults, three civil matters, six ambulance assist, 911 hang-up, six animal complaints, suspicious person.
Oxford police investigated 28 wrecks, issued 109 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

2 Domestic Violence – Simple Assault
No Motorcycle Helmet, Suspended Driving License (Implied Consent) and No Proof of Liability Insurance

20 Public Drunk
6 Minor in Possession of Alcohol (post-arrest citation)
1 Open Container (post-arrest citation)
Resisting Arrest and Warrant Served
False Identifying Information
Possession of a Fake ID (post-arrest citation)

Oxford Fire Department:
Wreck on Hwy 7 North with no extraction.
Popcorn machine activated a smoke detector at Oxford Intermediate School.
Smoke detector malfunction in room 303 of Sigma Pi House.
The third and fourth-floor smoke detector malfunction Residential Hall number 3.
General smoke detector malfunction of Sigma Nu House.
Smoke detector activation due to a shower steam at the Townhouse Suites by Marriott.
University Police: motor vehicle accident, counterfeit , service call, 16 vehicle stops, suspicious person, careless driving, suspicious vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, seven intoxicated persons, fake ID, ambulance needed, information, indecent exposure, burglary, vandalism, accident hit and run, fight, suspicious person, running a stop sign.
