Cullen Neal Requests Release From Ole Miss Basketball Program
According to Ole Miss Basketball’s twitter account, junior G Cullen Neal has asked for his release from the program.
The junior played just one season for the Rebels, but was a key part of the offense, especially from 3-point range. Neal shot just over 40 percent from beyond the arc including three in a performance against Syracuse in the NIT. Neal averaged 9.4 points per game in 23.6 minutes per game after transferring from the University of New Mexico. Head coach Andy Kennedy released a statement via twitter regarding Neal’s decision.
Neal is the second Ole Miss player to request a transfer this offseason. Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey requested his release earlier this month. Ole Miss won’t have a shortage of players, however, after they landed Memphis transfer Markel Crawford on Thursday, alongside the program’s highest ranked reciting class in its history.
