High Number Of Arrests Over Easter Weekend And More In Today's Crime Report

Crime ReportOxford police responded to the following calls: 12 disturbances, four petit larcenies, 16 suspicious activities two noise complaints, 14 alarms, two reported intoxicated people, six reported DUI drivers, elderly assist, nine welfare concerns, two 911 hang-ups, three ambulance assists, five civil matters, three harassing phone calls, malicious mischief, five complaints of lost property, two trespassing, three motorist assists, four animal complaints, illegally parked car, two scams, two false pretense, grand larceny, credit card fraud, shoplifting, burglary.
Oxford police investigated 16 wrecks, issued 149 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

One Headlight & Possession of Schedule 2 Narcotics
5 Public Intoxications
Wrong Way on a One Way & DUI
Expired Tag & DUI
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Expired Tag  & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
No Seatbelt & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Speeding, No Driver’s License & No Insurance
3 Shopliftings
Domestic Violence
No Headlights, No Insurance & DUI
Warrant Served (Shoplifting)
Public Intoxication & Malicious Mischief
Public Intoxication, MIP & Fake ID
Speeding & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Public Intoxication & Fake ID
9 Open Container – Post Arrest Citations
2 MIP – Post Arrest Citations
Speeding, Ran Stop Sign, No Driver’s License & No Insurance
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: five accidents, 12 alarms, four animal complaints, residential burglary, 17 disturbances, two grand larcenies, three harassments, three juvenile complaints, two malicious mischief, 16 service calls, nine suspicious activities, nine welfare concerns, eight civil matters, illegal dumping, four traffic complaints, two natural cause death, two unauthorized use of vehicle, seven follow-up, check point arrest.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made five arrests
circuit contempt warrant
DUI refusal, no driver’s license, no insurance, two contempt warrants (Justice) one indictment (Circuit)
domestic violence, simple assault
DUI first and reckless driving
juvenile pickup order, Youth Court
Oxford Fire Department: 
Shower steam activated a smoke detector outside of room 210 in Stockard Hall
Smell of gas nothing found at North Lamar and North 14th Street
Smoke from fryer activated a smoke detector at Captain D’s
On the third floor of building ten at The Connection someone pulled the fire alarm as a prank
Smoke detector malfunction in room 313 of the Chancellor House Hotel
A resident assistance at Hermitage Gardens
A wreck call cancelled at 18 CR 212

University Police: possession of drug paraphernalia, stalking, disturbing the peace, running a stop sign, three vehicle stop, two public drunk, information call, accident hit and run, careless driving.
