Tallahatchie Gourmet Set To Open On The Square

Published

on

Tallahatchie Gourmet, a town favorite in New Albany, is opening a second location in Oxford. Owner Angele Mueller expects the new Oxford location will be just as big a hit.

Inspired by the unique and delicious taste of Mueller’s hometown of New Orleans, Mueller hopes Tallahatchie Gourmet will add a distinct, wonderful flavor to the Oxford Square.
“I grew up in New Orleans, so of course, that is my background, but I would describe my cooking style as Southern, fun and festive,” Mueller said.
The restaurant, which is set to be open for lunch and dinner, will offer grab-and-go items all day, catering services and feature a full bar of draft beers and specialty cocktails.
Mueller said she’ll have two refrigerators full of grab-and-go casseroles and dips, such as lasagna, chicken & wild rice, chicken spaghetti, poppy seed chicken, pimento cheese, chicken salads and much more.
During lunch hours, guests can enjoy the laid-back, order-at-the-counter atmosphere and place to-go orders.
But for dinner, Tallahatchie Gourmet offers full table service and a sit-down meal featuring five appetizers and five entrees, which will switch out periodically.
Located in the building under Neilson’s, formerly The Shelter on Van Buren, Tallahatchie Gourmet is set to open mid-April.
