Oxford Flea Kicks Off Spring Festival Season April 1
Kicking off the spring festival season Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Annual Oxford Flea will feature hand-selected vendors offering items such as handmade furniture, vintage and children’s clothing, collectibles, toys, candles, wooden signs, houseware items, jewelry, repurposed furniture, outdoor yard art, antiques and much more. Food vendors will offer barbecue plates, custom egg rolls, fried pies and sno-cones.
Organized by Oxford’s Liz and Benjy Foster and held at the Old Armory Pavilion at 1801 University Ave., Liz and Benjy created a special video to introduce visitors to the venue:
“One of the most common questions I get is, ‘Where is the Old Armory Pavilion?’” Liz said. “So, we decided to create a video that would make finding it easier for everyone.”
Originally a monthly event, the Fosters decided to make Oxford Flea an annual affair after monitoring attendance numbers.
“We began Oxford Flea in 2015 with plans to host a monthly shopping event, but it soon became clear that an annual event in April was the way to go,” Liz said. “April is the start of festival season, the students are in town, and people are in the mood to be outside enjoying the weather.”
Oxford Flea is a family-friendly event that has something for everyone, including balloon artist, Steve Thomas, who will be on site creating fun balloon art for kids young and old.
“One of our sponsors, local radio station Bullseye 95.5, will be broadcasting live from the Oxford Flea on Saturday morning, which is super fun,” Liz said. “We really appreciate their support as well as the support of HottyToddy.com and the Cotton Boll Antique Mall.”
More information about the Oxford Flea, as well as vendor previews can be found on the Oxford Flea Facebook page or the official event invite page.
