Ten Great Flashback Songs Hitting The Charts In The Spring
Every now and then, the music bug bites me as I hear a tune that brings back so many great memories. These ten definitely did that. All hit the charts this time of year (March or April). If any of these were among your favorites, I hope they have the same effect on you, and you will take time out from a busy spring day to enjoy the greatest songs ever, just one more time! I will never be able to get the Nashville influence out of my DNA and really don’t care to. Here it goes….
#10 “Let It Be” by The Beatles reached #1
#9 “Do You Want To Know A Secret” by The Beatles reached #2
#8 “Can’t Get Used to Losing You” by Andy Williams reached #2
#7 “Take It On The Run” by REO Speedwagon reached #5
#6 “This Magic Moment” by The Drifters reached #16
#5 “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter” by Herman’s Hermits reached #1
#4 “Come Back Silly Girl” by The Lettermen reached #17
#3 “Watching the Wheels” by John Lennon reached #10
#2 “Time Won’t Let Me” by The Outsiders reached #8
#1 “I’ll Never Find Another You” by The Seekers reached #4 (This classic by Judith Durham and her Australian group should have been a number one hit. Listen and see if you concur.)
Several years ago, I closed down a Jackson bar with Sonny Geraci, lead singer of The Outsiders. “Time Won’t Let Me” had one of the greatest melodies I have ever heard. I remember hearing this hit song for the very first time driving through Green Hills. And the lyrics were so real that day as time wouldn’t let me wait to return to Oxford! Enjoy!
