Why Going Home For Spring Break Is Okay

Sleeping in your own bed

Who doesn’t love the thought of sleeping in a warm bed instead of some hard hotel mattress that hundreds of others have slept in. For those whose rooms were turned into an office or gym the minute you moved out, and you’re now stuck sleeping on the couch, all I can say is at least the couch is free!

Good food

When the only thing you have scheduled for the day is choosing which movies to watch on Netflix, it’s nice to forget the struggle all your friends are having while keeping up with the daily itinerary that one OCD friend made…. You know who you are.

Spending time with family

Spending time with family means making your parents take you to buy all the unnecessary stuff you want but don’t need. #favoritechild

Cuddling the family pet

Let’s be honest. Everyone secretly goes home to see their favorite perso…I mean, pet. What’s better than coming home to a bunch of kisses and cuddles from your fur baby? Even if it means cleaning up poop from the backyard all week.

Seeing hometown friends

Nothing beats catching up with old friends and reminiscing on the days in high school where you could stay up past midnight, or when you were able to eat a bag of chips that didn’t make you gain 20 pounds.

It’s free

Lastly, going home for Spring Break = FREE!! If you’re lucky enough, you may even pick up some hours at your old summer job, or babysit that child you never liked. Talk about ballin’ on a budget!
