Living Foods In Oxford Makes Eating Healthy Easy
Living Foods, located on College Hill Road next to Sky Mart, is an organic cafe and market with a mission to serve Oxford and nourish the community through good food, great service and “an offering of products you won’t find anywhere else in Oxford.”
Melody Sharp, owner of Living Foods, specializes her food for all types of diets, ranging from gluten free, dairy free, vegan, paleo to all those with food allergies.
“I have a child with food sensitivities; that has challenged me to learn new ways of looking at and preparing food,” Sharp said.
In preparing healthier food options to the community, Sharp tries to find as many locally farmed ingredients, such as dairy products from The Brown Family Farm, to better support her mission of serving the Oxford community.
“I believe Living Foods is a God-given vision for our community to serve those who are trying to take better care of the bodies that they have been blessed with,” Sharp said.
Living Foods serves meals from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers grab-and-go items such as casseroles, soups, spreads and salads. Living Foods also offers coffee, detox juices and smoothies.
In fact, Living Foods most popular grab-and-go items include detox salad, stuffed sweet potatoes, and Mexican quinoa casserole, all of which are gluten and dairy free. Some other delicious grab-and-go items to find are grass-fed beef chili, zoodles with turkey meatballs, poppyseed chicken salad and much more.
Sharp said, “We are just good food… food that is good for you and makes you feel good after you eat it.”
