Oxford Arts Crawl Takes Art Showings To A New Level
On the fourth Tuesday of each month (from January until October), The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council hosts The Oxford Arts Crawl.
The crawl, which includes a tour of Oxford’s many art venues, from traditional to one-night-only, pop-up shows, is open to all ages. Snacks and drinks are provided while attendees wait for the Double Decker bus to arrive.
Once the bus arrives, guests hop on for a tour, which includes several stops, including the UM Museum, the Square, the Ole Miss campus and the Powerhouse.
This past Tuesday’s Arts Crawl began at The Powerhouse, where children’s art was featured. From the Powerhouse, attendees boarded the bus for the next stop, the UM Museum, which featured the Adair Skipwith Gallery. The next stop was at Meek Hall on the Ole Miss campus, where the group got a chance to view art students’ work in Gallery 130. Last but not least, the bus made a stop at Southside Gallery, which displayed pottery, artwork and sculptures from various local artists.
