C-Spire's Inaugural CTX Event Set To Provide Insight Into Future Of Technology
C-Spire has unveiled the lineup for their inaugural CTX Tech Experience day. The event centered around technology will be held at the Pavilion on the Ole Miss campus on April 27, 2017. The speakers will include:
Dr. Brian Uzzi, a world-renowned scientist, and artificial intelligence expert
Randi Zuckerberg, CEO of Zuckerberg Media, and the creator of Facebook Live.
Michelle Doyle, CIO of the NFL, responsible for the technology strategy of the NFL.
Technology is an ever-expanding industry that has become a staple in everyday life. Senior Manager for Media Relations Dave Miller believes that this group of speakers will provide insight into the exciting new developments in the technological realm.
“Each of them is considered an expert in their respective field, a thoughtful leader, and their perspective is highly regarded and sought after across the entire technology ecosystem. We know they will share important insights and perspective on the ideas and innovation driving technology today.” Miller said.
According to Miller, topics among the three speakers will cover a wide variety of topics.
“The topics will include artificial intelligence, technology adoption and use in sports and the implications for players, owners and fans and the role of women in technology and the continuing opportunities for entrepreneurs in the new digital economy,” Miller said.
The speakers won’t be the only attraction as the event will feature numerous virtual reality and artificial intelligence displays to give the audience a hands-on look at what is being discussed. These are some of the industries key focuses for the future, and the Ole Miss engineering program is helping to shape that future.
“We will also feature interactive demonstrations of some of the latest emerging technology innovations, including virtual reality, digital streaming television and artificial intelligence,” Miller said. “Some of the technology demonstrations in virtual reality will feature cutting-edge work by students and faculty from the Ole Miss School of Engineering and the Center for Manufacturing Excellence.”
The event will culminate in a concert at the Lyric on the Oxford Square featuring Passion Pit, The Weeks and The Lonely Biscuits. Music and technology go hand in hand, and according to Miller, Oxford is a great place to bring to two together.
“The heaviest consumers of technology are millennials, particularly college students. This generation has grown up at the intersection of music and technology – so it’s only natural that a musical element would be included in the program,” Miller said. “The Lyric is one of the premiere venues in the Deep South for emerging music artists, regardless of genre, so it’s a natural fit to cap off the program with a concert.”
Tickets for CTX will go on sale March 6th, and can be purchased online. The event will begin on April 27 at 2:15 p.m.
