Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Hosts Tickled Pink At The Pavilion
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team will partner with Baptist Cancer
Center – North Mississippi and the Kay Yow Foundation for its ninth annual Tickled Pink game on Sunday. Ole Miss will paint The Pavilion at Ole Miss pink on Feb. 12 when the Rebels host Mississippi State. The game, in conjunction with the nationwide Play4Kay week, will be televised on the SEC Network at 3 p.m.
Ole Miss fans are encouraged to show support by wearing pink attire to the game. Baptist Cancer Center – North Mississippi will giveaway 3,000 pink pom poms and the Rebels, along with Baptist Cancer Center – North Mississippi will honor two survivors with on-court presentations throughout the game.
This game will be a part of Ole Miss’ Brunch at The Pavilion. For $20 for adults and $10 for children, which includes the price of a ticket, you can have brunch pregame in the Courtside Club beginning at 1 pm.
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team will be getting into the action wearing special pink uniforms and pink shoes. The uniforms will be auctioned off during a silent auction held throughout the game. Fans will be able to bid on the uniforms throughout the game at a marketing table in the concourse with all proceeds going to the Baptist Cancer Center – North Mississippi.
Below is a list of all the Play4Kay and Tickled Pink at The Pavilion initiatives taking place during the Mississippi State game:
Silent Auction for Game Worn Pink Jerseys – Fans will have the chance to bid on jerseys worn by the Ole Miss players during the game. Bidding will only take place during the game and will only be located on-site at The Pavilion at Ole Miss.
On-Court Cancer Survivor Recognition – The Ole Miss women’s basketball team along with Baptist Cancer Center – North Mississippi will honor two breast cancer survivors with on-court presentations and they will serve as Ole Miss women’s basketball honorary coaches for the game.
C.A.R.E. Walk Presentation – In an on-court presentation, the Ole Miss Panhellenic Council will present the Baptist Cancer Center – North Mississippi with a $55,200 check for the funds raised from the C.A.R.E. Walk fundraiser event held September 21, 2016.
Twitter – Fans are encouraged to use the Twitter Hashtag #RebsWearPink and tweet @OleMissWBB during the game to share their own cancer stories or to tweet in honor or memory of a loved one who has battled cancer.
