Top 5 Romantic Valentine's Day Dinner Venues In Oxford
Oxford is well known for its culinary scene. But a certain romantic holiday is causing these (already exceptional) restaurants to create a night that couples will not forget.
Though the town is filled with a long list of options for where to spend this night, there are five restaurants whose menus stand above the crowd. This Valentine’s Day, celebrate with that special someone by indulging in a romantic dinner at one of these five Oxford restaurants that have created unique menus for one night only.
Saint Leo
One of Oxford’s newest restaurant, Saint Leo, has quickly become well known for their wood-fired pizza. On Valentine’s Day, the restaurant, though normally closed on Tuesdays, will open with a full menu and a few extra dishes. The added menu items will include a flounder dish, a specialty pizza created by the restaurant’s expert pizzaiolo, chocolate crostata and butterscotch budino.
Wine Bar
All weekend the Wine Bar will have Yokna Sauce steak sauce, made using the original recipe from the Yokna River Inn. On Valentine’s Day night, the Wine Bar will feature a special menu with fried green tomatoes and crawfish sauce as a starter, grilled filet of beef with creamy truffled polenta and roasted broccoli as the entree, and toffee chess pie or snickerdoodle cheesecake for dessert. Pair this with the Wine Bar’s convenient location on the Square, and the night couldn’t get any sweeter.
Green Roof Lounge
One of Oxford’s finest rooftop restaurants, the Green Roof Lounge, sits atop the new Courtyard Marriot on Jackson Avenue. For Valentine’s Day, the Green Roof Lounge is offering “Romance on the Rooftop.” In addition to the regular menu, couples may choose from the Valentine’s Day menu that will include smoked duck breast salad, trio of bilinis for two, raspberry whoopie pie, and more. Add in the beauty of seeing Oxford from above, and the setting is perfect for a romantic date.
Mesquite Chop House
Another new addition to Oxford, Mesquite Chop House, will offer a couple’s special for Valentine’s dinner. For $75, couples can choose between a wedge salad or a caesar salad, an eight-ounce filet or grilled snapper and a shared dessert of creme brulee or chocolate cake. Couples can also add a bottle of wine to the meal for $25-$35.
Grit
Just down Old Taylor Road, Grit has taken the local fine dining world by storm. Their dining room or patio with blankets and a fireplace are both ideal settings for a romantic dinner for two. On Valentine’s Day, Grit will offer a four-course meal with a choice between coffee crusted beef tenderloin or butter poached flounder for the entree. The meal will finish with Chai Tea Pannacotta, matcha green tea ice cream, chocolate strawberries, and salted caramel. Once finished with this decadent meal, couples can sit and enjoy the wide front porch and a quiet night to end their romantic evening.
