DL Coach Tray Scott Leaves Ole Miss For UGA
Just when we thought the shakeup on the Ole Miss football staff was finished, it was announced this morning that DL Coach Tray Scott will be leaving the Rebels to take the same position at the University of Georgia.
Scott accepted the position at Ole Miss just over a month ago to replace former DL coach Chris Kiffin. This is the second assistant who took and left a job on Hugh Freeze’s staff during this offseason. Matt Lubick was brought in to coach the wide receivers but left abruptly to take a co-offensive coordinator job at Baylor.
Freeze issued a statement on Scott’s departure earlier this morning.
“Tray Scott is leaving our staff for another opportunity. We want coaches that are 100 percent committed to winning championships at Ole Miss. Our student-athletes, our staff, and Rebel Nation deserve that, and that is what we will bring to this great program.” Freeze said.
Scott had worked with Freeze as a grad assistant at Arkansas State and spent the 2012 with Ole Miss before becoming the DL coach at the University of North Carolina.
