Super Bowl Weekend Leads To High Number Of Arrests In Today's Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Four suspicious activities, two credit card fraud, nine alarms, recovered property, shoplifting, scam, ten suspicious person, two harassing phone calls, nine reported DUI’s three suspicious vehicles, 14 disturbing the peace, burglary of a residence (off of Harris Dr), nine improper parking, counterfeit currency, malicious mischief, motorist assist, fire department assist, civil matter, three ambulance assist, two simple assault, three domestic disturbances, two welfare concerns, animal complaint, petit larceny.
Oxford police investigated 17 wrecks, issued 89 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

Possession of a Fake ID and Public Drunk
Seatbelt Violation, No Driving License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

False Identifying Information

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: four accidents, five alarms, four animal complaints, ten disturbances, domestic violence, two petit larceny, four harassment, two juvenile complaints, 14 service calls six suspicious activities, vandalism, five welfare concerns, transport, four civil matters, six traffic complaints, follow up, traffic detail, vehicle fire and a misdemeanor child abuse.

Unauthorized burning of leaves at 2206 Anderson Road.
General fire alarm malfunction at Chi Psi House.
Lobby smoke detector malfunction Chancellor House Hotel.
Woods and area brush on fire at 403 Saddle Creek area.
Kids started a fire but was out upon arrival University Ave @ South 16th.
A smell of smoke from light ballast smoking at the Lyceum.
University Police:
Seven intoxicated persons, possession of fake Id public drunk, two suspicious persons, EMS called for intoxicated person, 15 vehicle stops, public drunk, vandalism to vehicle, disturbing the peace.
