Ole Miss Football: A Brief Look at Early Spring Enrollees
Ole Miss football fans are already excited about the 2017 season. Seeing the early enrollees report to class added to the excitement. Here’s a brief look at the enrollees.
Ole Miss Spring semester started on January 23rd. With the beginning of the semester also comes the beginning of the college careers of a few football commits. Ole Miss has six early enrollees that have reported to school.
The benefits of having recruits come in during the Spring semester are numerous. First, it allows them access to the Ole Miss training and weight room. Therefore, they can begin getting their bodies acclimated to the physicality of college football.

Former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly gained valuable lessons after a difficult end to his college career
Chad Kelly has considered the alternate path.
He has wondered what it would have been like if he had entered the NFL Draft after his 2015 season.
He has envisioned the different route, one that would have allowed him to steer clear of the painful results of Ole Miss’ whoopee cushion experience in 2016.
This past fall, reality presented a rockier road for the former Rebels quarterback. Ole Miss finished 5-7, its worst season since coach Hugh Freeze arrived before the 2012 campaign. Kelly threw for 2,758 yards with 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions before he sustained a season-ending torn ACL and a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee against Georgia Southern on Nov. 5.
Instead of ending his college career with an exclamation point, Kelly left a giant question mark that should make some NFL scouts scratch their heads.

Ole Miss’ Anna Vrbenska Named Women’s Tennis SEC Freshman of the Week
With only two dual matches on her resume, Anna Vrbenska of the Ole Miss women’s tennis team is already making headlines, as she was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Vrbenska (7-3) combined to go 3-0 in doubles and singles on the Rebels season-opening road trip out west. She won both her doubles and singles matches in a 7-0 win at UC Irvine and then in just her second dual match, Vrbenska clinched a 4-3 victory at Hawaii, winning 6-4 in the third set at No. 3 singles.
The Rebels head to Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend for the ITA Kick-Off, which serves as the qualifier for the National Team Indoor. They will face host Virginia Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT in the first round.
