Ole Miss Travels to the Hump to take on No.4 MSU
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team jumps back into action this evening as they travel to Starkville, Mississippi, to take on the No. 4 Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Ole Miss (13-4, 2-2 SEC) enters the contest after snapping a 28-game losing streak to Tennessee in come-from-behind fashion with a 67-62 win over the Lady Vols. Madinah Muhammad posted 21 points, while Shandricka Sessom tallied her fourth double-double this season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The win also kept the Rebels perfect at The Pavilion at Ole Miss with 12 straight wins.
Mississippi State enters Monday’s game with a perfect 18-0, 4-0 SEC record and a No. 4 national ranking after defeating Florida, 82-49 on Thursday. The Bulldogs are led by Victoria Vivians who is averaging 16.9 points per game, while Morgan William is adding 10.9 points per game.
Chinwe Okorie leads the way on the glass with 6.6 rebounds per game. Mississippi State is averaging 79.8 points per game and is pulling down 38.9 rebounds per game.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State are meeting for the 92nd time on Monday night. The Rebels lead the series, 63-28, but Mississippi State has won the last five meetings. The meetings between the teams are always a battle with four of the last five meetings decided by less than 10 points. Ole Miss is seeking its first win in Starkville since 2007.
