Harassing Phone Calls, Warrants Served and More in the Daily Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls: Four alarms, burglary (Garfield), six suspicious activity, simple assault, animal complaint, 911 hang-up, harassing phone call, welfare concern, scam, ambulance assist, suspicious vehicle.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 16 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:
Expired Tag, No Proof of Liability Insurance and Possession of a Schedule IV Drug
Petit Larceny and Warrant Served
Speeding and DUI
Public Drunk
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: two alarms, animal complaint, three disturbances, petit larceny, juvenile complaint, nine service calls, three suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, scam, transport, four follow-ups and a traffic complaint.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made no arrests
Oxford Fire Department
Grinding metal in the basement activated a smoke detector at the Chancellors House Hotel.
Checking the water system activated the water flow alarm at 204 Town Center Drive.
A smell of smoke – an electric motor was shorting out and smoking at The Haven House.
Cooking activated a smoke detector at Captain D’s.
A fire alarm malfunction at 306 CR 301.
University Police Department
Responded to eight vehicle stops.
