Two Disturbances of Worship and More in The Daily Crime Report
Oxford police responded to the following calls:Twenty-four alarms, 15 disturbing the peace, two malicious mischief, animal complaint, three domestic disturbance, six welfare concerns, theft report, three suspicious activity, six 911 hang-ups, three fire department assist, four reported DUI’s, four ambulance assist, embezzlement, scam, two suspicious person, two simple assault, recovered property, false pretense, petit larceny, harassing phone call, burglary of a residence (11th St).
Oxford police investigated 16 wrecks, issued 58 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

6 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Improper Equipment and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Domestic Violence
Warrant Served

Ran Red Light, Expired Tag, No Proof of Liability Insurance and DUI
Careless Driving, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Possession of a Fake ID and DUI

Open Container, Resisting Arrest and DUI
Seatbelt Violation, No Proof of Liability Insurance, Driving While License Suspended and Disorderly Conduct – Failure to Comply with Officer

Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: seven accidents, simple assault, eight alarms, two animal complaints, residential burglary (Highway 6 East area), 16 disturbances, two domestic violence, grand larceny, petit larceny, two harassment, juvenile complaint, three malicious mischief, 30 service calls, nine suspicious activity, vandalism, six welfare concerns, five civil matters, firework complaint, vehicle fire, follow up.
Lafayette Sheriff’s department made three arrests on the following charge:

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Friday, December 30
Workers activated a smoke detector at Shoemaker Hall.
The smell of gas while working on heating unit at First Baptist Church.
A resident pulled a fire alarm State Veterans Home.
A wreck with entrapment – canceled no entrapment on University Avenue near Pizza Hut area.
Workers cutting sign down caught grass on fire at Old Popeyes Belk Blvd.
Saturday, December 31
Smoking and E-cig activated a smoke detector at the Delta Psi house.
Sunday
A caller saw smoke coming from A/C unit – it was the generator doing it’s weekly test at City Hall.
Call canceled at 215 Chandler.
Changing smoke detector batteries activated the smoke detector at 200 Washington #17.
Monday
Resident pulled a fire alarm at Hermitage Gardens.
A call canceled for Baptist Memorial Hospital.
