Women’s Basketball Squad To Host Austin Peay Tonight

The Ole Miss Women’s Basketball squad returns to the court Tuesday night as they play host to Austin Peay. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

Ole Miss (9-2) extended its home-win streak to eight straight after a 77-57 win over VCU on Saturday. The Rebels were led in scoring by Chrishae Rowe with 14 points as her teammate Shandricka Sessoms added 12 points.

Head coach Matt Insell picked up his 50th career win on Saturday.

Austin Peay enters Tuesday’s game with a 6-6 record after an 81-52 loss to Middle Tennessee. The Governors are lead by Tearra Banks, who is averaging 16.4 points per game and is the lone player in double figures. She also leads the way on the glass with 8.8 rebounds per game. Beth Rates is contributing 8.3 points per game while Falon Baker is adding 7.8 points per game.

The Governors are averaging 62.4 points per game and 39.5 rebounds per game. Tuesday’s game will be the second consecutive road game for the team and the third road game in the last four games. Austin Peay is 1-3 on the road this season.

This will be the fifth meeting between Ole Miss and Austin Peay and the first meeting since the 2013-14 season. Ole Miss leads the series 4-0 and took a 99-69 in the last meeting. The Rebels own a 3-0 record in games played in Oxford.
