The Ole Miss women’s basketball team hopes to remain perfect on the hardwood of The Pavilion at Ole Miss on Wednesday night. Ole Miss will square off against the No. 25 ranked Oregon Ducks in con-conference action. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.

Ole Miss (7-2) got back into the winning column on Saturday with a 97-40 victory over La-Monroe. The Rebels were led by Madinah Muhammad with a game-high 21 points while Alissa Alston recorded a career-best nine rebounds.

Coach Matt Insell’s squad is being led this season by Muhammad and Shandricka Sessom from the floor. Muhammad is averaging 14.1 ppg, while Sessom is adding 13.9 ppg. Erika Sisk is also in double figures contributing 10.6 points per game.Oregon enters Wednesday’s game with

Oregon enters Wednesday’s game with an 8-1 record after defeating Clemson, 87-59 on Monday. A trio in double figures lead the Ducks who entered the AP Poll at No. 25 this week. Freshman Sabrina Ionescu leads the charge with 14.3 points per game, while Lexi Bando is averaging 12.9 points per game. Ruthy Hebard is contributing 12.1 points per game as well. Hebard is also leading the way on the glass with a team-best 7.9 rebounds per game.

The Ducks have taken on another SEC foe in Mississippi State, who handed Oregon their lone loss of the season, 75-63, at the Rainbow Wahine Classic. They have also defeated a ranked opponent in then-No. 24 Michigan State, 88-55, in Eugene. Freshman Ionescu has posted a pair of triple doubles on the season including one in Oregon’s last outing against Clemson.

When these two teams tip the ball up, it will be the first ever meeting between the two programs on the hardwood. The last time the Rebels faced a Pac 12 opponent in 2014-15 was when they defeated Utah 52-38, at the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nevada. Ole Miss is 5-6 all-time against teams from the Pac 12.
