Rowdy Rebs Brings Something New To The Square
HottyToddy.com will be releasing two of our top 50 stories of the year each day, and three throughout the weekends until New Year’s Eve! Relive the moments with us as we look back on 2016!
In two weeks, the Oxford Square will be home to a brand new night club. Field Nicaud, a sophomore at Ole Miss, has decided to partner with his brother Jourdan in creating Rowdy Rebs. Rowdy Rebs will be focused on bringing an entirely new vibe to the Oxford nightlife.
Jared Foster, the general manager, hopes the new venue will give the community a new area to dance and enjoy live music.
“Every time I dance or go out to enjoy myself with friends, it creates a better version of me,” Foster said. “I don’t feel that Oxford has a place that is a full-on dance club. That’s what we’re bringing here to Oxford.”
Rowdy Rebs will feature local artists from the Oxford community as well as notable artists that are popular in the college world today. In fact, Nicaud said Kevin Gates is expected to perform soon at the new venue.
“We’ll have locals and also people from Memphis, so we welcome any local artist to contact us through our page,” Nicaud said.
Rowdy Rebs also plans on serving fresh seafood throughout their daytime hours.
Foster has worked with Landshark Crawfish and plans on bringing new dishes to the Square. King crab, shrimp and crawfish will be just a few of the options.
What makes Rowdy Rebs stand out is the detailed lighting that will make for a vibrant atmosphere.
“There’s gonna be lights going everywhere,” Nicaud said. “Compared to the other bars in the area, we’ll have HID black wall lights along with wash down lights, all so the audience experiences a club atmosphere.”
Nicaud hopes to open the doors in time for the Double Decker weekend. Rowdy Rebs is located on the Square, where Fins was previously located. Learn more by visiting RowdyRebs.com.
