Oxford Christmas Parade Postponed Till Tomorrow Due to Inclement Weather
The annual Oxford Christmas Parade has been postponed to tomorrow December 6th due to some much needed inclement weather. The rain has grounded Santa’s sleigh for now, but the parade will go on, just a day later.
The parade, put on by the Oxford Lions Club, will feature decorated floats, antique cars, beauty queens in convertibles and of course Mr. and Mrs. Claus as the final float in the parade. The parade route will begin at the Midtown Shopping Center on North Lamar and go up to the square, and eventually ending in front of the Ford Center on the Ole Miss campus. The historic Oxford Square has been outfitted for the Holiday season with decorations and lights all over, providing the perfect backdrop for the annual parade.
The parade will begin at 6:30 on Tuesday unless the rain continues. If the rain persists, the parade will again be pushed back until Wednesday.
