Former Ole Miss Rebel starting pitcher Chris Ellis was traded from the Atlanta Braves organization to the Saint Louis Cardinals organization, according to CBSSports.com
Ellis was drafted in the third round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
Since being drafted, Ellis has been a part of five teams. During his career, he’s posted a 4.34 ERA with 23 wins and 19 losses. Ellis has appeared in 63 games with 56 starts.
While on the field in an Ole Miss uniform, Ellis played a key role in the Rebels 2014 College World Series third-place run.
Now in the Cardinals organization, Ellis joins two other former Rebel pitchers with the club. Lance Lynn and Mike Mayers, who are both up in the major leagues, while Ellis will continue to work his way up. All three were dominant pitchers on the mound while wearing the red and blue, and it may not be long before all three are together on the Cardinals major league staff.
