Pew Research, Google, and Former White House Officials to Speak at Ole Miss ‘Data Day’
OXFORD, Miss. – Experts on how to use data in business and politics will be guests of the Meek School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi for its second Data Day.
The event will be Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the Overby Center Auditorium on the Oxford Campus of the University of Mississippi. It will feature three representatives from well-known organizations to discuss the importance of networking and building customer relationships through data.
Speakers will be Jessica Malone, research associate at Pew Marketing; Mike Reilley, Trainer at Google News Lab; and David Hudson, Senior Associate at Precision Strategies and former associate director of content in the White House Office of Digital Strategy. Malone, Reilley and Hudson will speak about their expertise within their industries and share insights about trends and opportunities with regard to data.
The speakers will each present a topic at one of the three sessions, at 8 a.m, 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. that day. The free event will benefit both professionals and students and is open to the public.
“We hosted the first data event last November and it was a success,” said Jennifer Sadler, an instructor in the Meek School. “We want to continue bringing in top data experts to talk about how the use of information and analytics makes communications more effective and we are thrilled to have guests from Pew, Google, and Precision strategies this year.”
