Ole Miss Basketball Hosts Inaugural “Dunk Or Treat”
A night filled with fun, fright, and friendly faces, the Pavilion played host to Ole Miss Basketball’s inaugural “Dunk Or Treat”. With a pumpkin decorating station, mummy races, a hayride, a half-court shot contest, and so much more “Dunk or Treat” offered up fun for all of its costumed guests.
The event was held in place of the annual “Square Jam”, due to scheduling conflicts, but the new venue was a welcomed change for many people including the Poole’s and their 1-year-old daughter Harper.
“We went to Square Jam last year, but this we’ve enjoyed the scenery and the atmosphere here much better. Being inside, all the games are great and overall its just been a great event,” said Will Poole.
Also enjoying the new event were both Ole Miss basketball teams, with players signing autographs for fans throughout the evening. Joining them in the autograph line was the Head Coach of the men’s squad Andy Kennedy. Kennedy noted he was always a fan of “Square Jam” but enjoyed watching fans embrace the new event.
“I miss Square Jam, but I understand why we couldn’t make it happen, but there’s a lot of kids here, and they’re all having fun and that’s what it’s all about,” Kennedy said “Anything we can do to introduce our guys, and let fans know that basketball season is around the corner is a good event in my book.”
When asked about the Rebels on the court goals for the season, Kennedy was short, sweet and to the point.
“I’m pumped up for the season, and it’s our goal every year to make it back to the NCAA tournament,” Kennedy said.
