AT&T customers at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and in the Grove on Saturdays can expect better coverage from now on thanks to an upgraded 4G LTE network.

AT&T has boosted coverage on the campuses of Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss for game days. AT&T released the following press release to announce the news:

JACKSON, Miss., October 28, 2016 —AT&T* has boosted its mobile internet coverage at Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss. When big plays happen this season, fans can enjoy stronger connections as they share the moment with friends and family.

“Mississippians love college football, especially sharing the game day experience with family and friends. We’ve improved the network so customers can share more pictures, texts, calls, and social media posts at the game,” said Mayo Flynt, president of AT&T Mississippi. “We continuously invest in our wireless network to help our customers stay seamlessly connected.”

AT&T is upgrading its network by adding capacity to the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss. This gives customers a better wireless experience at the game.

A DAS is made of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&T wireless network coverage. It shortens the distance a call or text must travel. Calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a “traffic jam” of other calls, texts and posts.

AT&T has invested more than $875 million in its Mississippi wireless and wired networks during 2013 -2015.

The company constantly invests in its network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay connected. This helps Mississippi residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network, whether at home, at work or on the go.
