Second Line To Help Safe Ride Keep Running Smoothly
On Tuesday, October 25, Safe Ride will be partnering with Second Line, a restaurant on the Oxford Square, for a fundraiser that will support Safe Ride’s efforts to keep the service free for all Ole Miss students and help pay for maintenance on the buses. Safe Ride operates as a way to keep students safe, and this fundraiser will allow them to continue to offer that service.
“Our goal is to keep students informed and off the road while offering them an alternative to driving under the influence,” said Natalia Truong, Safe Ride president. “For us, it’s about protecting our student body and the Oxford community. It’s vital to keep Safe Ride free to the student body because while there’s Uber and taxis, Safe Ride is primarily focused on the wellbeing of our Ole Miss family.”
Safe Ride runs Thursday and Friday from 10 p.m. – 2 a.m., Saturdays from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. every week, and makes stops all over the Ole Miss campus. The service is free for all Ole Miss students.
Second Line will donate 10 percent of all proceeds on Tuesday to Safe Ride and will be offering specials all day long on favorites such as gumbo, enchiladas and chicken livers. If you’re looking for a drink special, this fundraiser has you covered with $1 PBR and fireball shots. Second Line’s full menu can be viewed here, and to learn more about Safe Ride you can visit their Facebook page.
