Ole Miss Targets 4-Star OLB For 2017 Class
After falling from the top to the bottom of the SEC in terms of total defense, the Rebel defense is looking to the recruiting trail to put some bite back in their “Landshark” defense.
The latest target of Freeze and his staff is the 6’2 217 pound OLB Nathan Proctor out of Lackey HS in Indian Head, Maryland. Proctor is a 4-star recruit, and the 10th OLB overall according to scout.com. In a recent interview with the Ole Miss Spirit, Corey Weiberley of Fast Track Recruits talked about what separates Proctor from other linebackers in the 2017 class.
“Definitely his speed is a strength,” Wimberley said. “He’s just so athletic. But what separates Nathan from the rest of the pack is that he has that Dog personality on the field. Off the field, he’s a yes sir/no sir type kid. Very respectful and a student leader. But when you get on the field that switch goes off. He just becomes an animal in a good way.”
Ole Miss has a lot of completion for the 4-star linebacker, as he has fielded offers from other SEC schools like Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and national powerhouses such as Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Miami. With 4.55 speed, and high levels of production on the field it’s no secret why the Rebels want Proctor as a part of their 2017 class, which is currently ranked 43rd by rivals.com. While it is still very early on, Proctor could help jumpstart the Rebels 2017 effort on the recruiting trail.
