Arrest Made, Charges Follow in Ole Miss Motel Murder Investigation

According to the Oxford Police Department, Ludie Lassiter, 52, of Pennington, Alabama has been charged with manslaughter after being arrested in connection to the murder at the Ole Miss Motel on University Ave. on October 1, 2016.

Lassiter was taken into custody at Baptist Memorial Hospital upon receiving treatment for major injuries he sustained during the alleged incident. Henry Chandler Jenkins, 39, of Lafayette County, Mississippi, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy report performed by the state found that strangulation was the official cause of death.

Another man, who’s name has not been released, was also treated at Baptist Memorial Hospital. For previous reports, click here.
