Now that the Ole Miss Rebels have reached no. 14 in the AP Poll, here’s an analysis of the 13 teams ahead of them in the ranking and the opponents they have left to play in the Top 25:

1. Alabama……..A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas
2. Ohio State…..Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan
3. Clemson…….FSU
4. Michigan…….Ohio State
5. Washington…. None
6. Houston………Louisville
7. Louisville……..Houston
8. Texas A&M ….Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss
9. Tennessee……A&M, Alabama
10. Miami…………FSU, NC, VA Tech
11. Wisconsin…..Ohio State, Nebraska
12. Nebraska……Wisconsin, Ohio State
13. Baylor……….Oklahoma, West Virginia
14. Ole Miss……Arkansas, A&M

It’s way too early to speculate how high the Rebels could ultimately rise. However, a “run of the table” could seriously threaten the top four and a certainty for a New Year’s six bowl. In addition to the Hogs and Aggies (both away), there’s still a date on October 22nd which lists Baton Rouge as the destination. One week at a time and one game at a time with the focus now on #16 Arkansas and how to stop their ground game is the priority.

We need some help to get into playoff contention. Hopefully we can win out — and hopefully Alabama will lose all 3 remaining – or at least two!
