You Aren’t A True Oxonian Unless You Have Been To These Restaurants
Oxford, Mississippi, has some hole-in-the-wall restaurants. Oxonians are people who have lived in Oxford for more than 10 years. However, you can not be a true Oxonian unless you have had a meal at all of these hidden gem restaurants.
B’s BBQ
B’s BBQ is located on College Hill Road. B’s is famous for their BQQ, but if you are a true Oxonian you had breakfast from here. This is where you come if you want some food like your grandma used to make it!
Editor choice: Sausage biscuit
Taylor grocery
Taylor grocery is a town favorite and it’s not just because you can brown bag. People wait for hours in the parking lot just to get a taste of the amazing catfish. This is the place to go on the weekends if you are a true Oxonian.

Lamar Lounge
Lamar Lounge is located on North Lamer, students don’t frequent that side of town often, so it’s just for us locals… most of the time. If you haven’t had the BBQ here, you are really missing out. However if you ask any Oxonian, they will tell you the best thing to get here is the juicy burger!
Editor choice: Bacon cheese burger
The Beacon
The Beacon is Oxford’s oldest restaurant of 57 years. The inside is always packed with true Oxonians. This restaurant is a town favorite, not only because of the amazing food but because of its low prices.
Editors pick: The Big Bubba
The Sizzler
The sizzler is probably the biggest hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Oxford. You will never see students in here. The people that frequent here are true Oxonians!
