Northwest To Offer Next Eight–Week Mini-Term In October
In October, Northwest Mississippi Community College will offer an eight-week mini-term featuring a variety of academic and career-technical classes on the Senatobia campus, DeSoto Center and online through the college’s eLearning program. One class will also be offered at the Lafayette-Yalobusha Technical Center (LYTC) in Oxford.
Mini-terms were developed for students who wish to take courses over an eight- week span, instead of a traditional semester. Students who want to expedite their degree plan to graduate early may take advantage of these courses.
The mini-term will be held from Oct. 17 to Dec. 12. Open registration will be held Wednesday – Friday, Oct. 12-14. On the Senatobia campus, students can register for campus and online classes in the eLearning Office in Tate Hall.
Classes offered on the Senatobia campus include Reading Enhancement II, College Study Skills, Advanced Power Trains and Supervised Work Experience in Agricultural Technology, Orientation and Microsoft Word.
At the DeSoto Center, classes offered for the second mini-term are Personal Finance Management, Microeconomics, World Religion I, Music Appreciation, U.S. History II, General Psychology II, Geography, Criminal Justice (Foundations of Terrorism) and Commercial Truck Driving I and II (Olive Branch campus).
On the Oxford campus, Microsoft Word will be offered.
Online classes offered include Accounting, Business Statistics, Principles of Biology I and II, Environmental Science, Principles of Nutrition, Business Communications, Introduction to Keyboarding, Applied Business Mathematics, Career Readiness, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, English Composition II, World Geography, U.S. History I and II, Intermediate Algebra, American National Government, Music Appreciation, General Psychology II, Reading Enhancement II, Introduction to Sociology, Marriage and Family and Public Speaking I.
