Wanna Guess How Many Chicken Tenders Will Be in The Grove?
Like no other, The Grove is known across the country for its tailgating experience.
With Wofford coming to town for the opening game of the 2016 football season, Oxford restaurants are busy gearing up for Saturday.
Tents will be filled with both fancier foods and traditional tailgating fare. Local restaurateurs agree chicken tenders are the most popular food in The Grove on game days.
Brad Whiteside, General manager of Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in Oxford said, his restaurant on the Square will cook anywhere from 350 to 500 chicken tenders.
“Oxford is definitely a tenders town when it comes to game day,” Whiteside said. “Tenders for Gus’s is a little different item, but we’ve been getting ready ahead of the game.”
David Skutnik, Oxford Abner’s Partner, said between the two Oxford stores Abner’s
restaurants would sell over 10,000 chicken tenders.
“We get pick-up times from people, and we will have them ready when they walk in,” Skutnik said.
So Ole Miss fans, get ready for some football…and a lot of chicken tenders, too!
Stop by your favorite tent. Chances are high you’ll bite into a tender or two.
