Jimbo Fisher’s Concern With Ole Miss Starts With QB Chad Kelly
Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher started with Chad Kelly when discussing his concerns with 11th-ranked Ole Miss.
Fisher’s No. 4 Seminoles play the Rebels next Monday in the Camping World Kickoff from Orlando, and it is no surprise that Kelly and the Ole Miss passing attack have captured his attention.
“On a guy like Chad, (it’s) being able to get pressure and stay in your rushing lanes,” Fisher said Monday at his weekly press conference in Tallahassee. “You can rush crazy and give him running lanes, that’s where he makes tons of plays, scrambling, getting the ball downfield and keeping his eyes up.”

Hugh Freeze thinks 2016 class might be his best yet at Ole Miss

How good is the 2016 Ole Miss recruiting class? After just two practices, Hugh Freeze believes this could be the best class — top to bottom — he’s ever recruited to Oxford. And that includes the heralded 2013 class that produced three first-round draft picks in April’s NFL draft.
“I love what I see,” Freeze said. “They’re learning. It’s a learning curve. We’re splitting practices. The young kids are getting eight periods by themselves where I’ll teach, and in the first two days, I really like what I’ve seen from those young guys. They’re good kids, and they’re obviously talented.”
The class, ranked No. 4 nationally, included two five-stars and 14 four-stars. Some of the more notable names like Benito Jones, Shea Patterson, and Charles Wiley enrolled early and went through spring practice with the Rebels.

Ole Miss DE Fadol Brown expected to ‘give it a go’ vs. Florida State

Finally, some good news on the health of Ole Miss defensive end Fadol Brown. A day after Brown made it through an entire practice without incident—the first time he’d worked out with the team since undergoing season-ending surgery on his foot back in December—Hugh Freeze said his hulking run stuffer could produce “20 to 30 good snaps” against Florida State on Labor Day.
“He looked good today. I’m pretty confident he’ll give it a go,” Freeze told reporters after practice on Wednesday.
Apparently, the treatment for which Brown traveled to Dallas over the weekend ended up paying off. Freeze said on Monday that there was no lingering structural damage and that it was just a matter of pain management—but that nothing would be determined until he got out on the practice field and tested it out. Two days later, it sounds like the foot is holding up just fine.
