Chancellor’s House, Oxford’s only boutique luxury hotel, is due to open this fall, so it’s no surprise that Bailey Ward is so busy. As the Director of Sales and Catering, she is the point of contact for guests seeking to host events at Chancellor’s House.

Bailey helps future guests take full advantage of the many venues and amenities Chancellor’s House has to offer. With seven separate dining and beverage options, a ballroom, spa, and the Chancellor’s Suite, a variety of events have been planned already. “We’ve booked rehearsal dinners, cocktail receptions, bridal luncheons, and a 90th birthday party that we’re very excited about!” says Bailey. Guests are eager to experience the Chancellor’s Grill and the Tea Room. Cocktails in the Library or the Lobby Bar are anticipated as well.

Bailey has designed wedding packages to cater to a variety of needs, but all of them showcase the first-class amenities that set Chancellor’s House apart. From the VIP Butler dedicated exclusively to the bride and groom to the personalized menus, each aspect speaks to the luxury and attention to detail that is the Chancellor’s House brand.

Drawing on years of event planning with exclusive Atlanta institutions such as the High Museum of Art, Bold American Events, and the Ignition Event Marketing Agency, Bailey has been instrumental in developing and managing a diverse variety of events, including Coca-Cola’s 125th Anniversary Celebration, the Delta Airlines Block Party, and exclusive VIP Member events. From board meetings to conferences, wedding weekends to holiday parties, Ward is competent and enthusiastic.

“The most exciting part so far is the anticipation of the opening,” says Bailey. “There’s so much buzz surrounding the hotel. There’s nothing like it in the state of Mississippi, and I feel privileged to be representing such a quality hotel.”

An Ole Miss alum herself, Bailey is excited about football season for more reasons than watching the Rebels play. “To my knowledge, the Chancellor’s Grill is the only restaurant in Oxford that accepts reservations on game day weekends. It’s a luxury to not have to rush, knowing that you have a table reserved for a meal after the game.” Bailey is also putting together specials for holiday parties. While more details are still to come, Bailey assures us that signature Christmas cookies and cocktails are an integral part of the plan.
