Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, August 2 – Harassing Phone Call, Public Drunk
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, four alarms, three larcenies, two disturbing the peace, two motorist assists, two animal complaints, two careless driving, a domestic disturbance, a welfare concern, a civil matter, a fire code violation, an abandoned vehicle, one harassing phone call and a false pretense.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 28 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Public drunkenness and malicious mischief
Speeding and minor in possession of alcohol
Lafayette sheriff’s department responded to the following incidents: five service calls, four alarms, two disturbances, an accident, an animal complaint, a grand larceny, a harassment, a juvenile complaint, a malicious mischief, a traffic complaint and an unauthorized use of a vehicle.
University police department responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, a traffic detail on West Road, a vehicle accident at Pittman Hall, a warrant served off-campus, a report of a harassment on Manning Way and a public drunk at David Nutt Auditorium.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Vehicle wreck with entrapment at 3:23 p.m. on Highway 315 at County Road 3023
Smoke detector activation at 11:13 p.m. caused by a resident changing batteries in the smoke detector at 100 Falls Grove Drive
