Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, July 28 – Burglary, Juvenile Complaint
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: nine suspicious activities, six alarms, three disturbances, two welfare concerns, two illegally parked cars, a noise violation, a fire department assist, a motorist assist, a trespassing, a lost property and a 911 hang-up call.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 23 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges:
Public intoxication
Careless driving and DUI
No driver’s license and DUI (wreck)
Public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia
Speeding, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
Speeding, no insurance, suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia
Lafayette sheriff’s department responded to the following incidents: five disturbances, four alarms, three animal complaints, three juvenile complaints, three service calls, three transportations, an accident, a petit larceny, a civil matter, a follow-up and a juvenile transportation to Tupelo Detention Center.
University police department responded to the following incidents: four vehicle stops, a disturbance at J.D. Williams Library, an accidental hit and run at Campus Walk Apartments and a suspicious person at Conner Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: smoke detector activation at 10:41 p.m. caused by burned popcorn at Townhouse Suites by Marriott.
