Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, July 26 – Burglary, Violation of Protection Order
Brianna Sims – Burglary
On Tuesday, July 26, Investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested Brianna Sims (18 Oxford) for burglary.
On July 23, the Oxford police department received a call about a burglary that had already occurred in the Cotton Creek Subdivision. When officers arrived at the victim’s residence they found items that were linked back to Sims and another juvenile. After conducting interviews with the suspects, the officers determined that Sims did break and enter the residence. Sims was given a bond of $5,000.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, three suspicious activities, three disturbances, two 911 hang up calls, two motorist assists, a reported DUI driver, an identity theft, a welfare concern, a scam, an embezzlement, a trespassing, an ambulance assist and an illegally parked car.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 27 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Malicious mischief
Careless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI
University police responded to the following incidents: two vehicle stops, and an accidental hit and run at Intercollegiate Athletics building.
Lafayette sheriff’s department responded to the following incidents: nine service calls, six disturbances, four transportations, two traffic complaints, two accidents, two alarms, two animal complaints, two welfare concerns, two traffic complaints, a harassment, a juvenile complaint, a credit card fraud, and a follow-up.
Lafayette sheriff’s department made two arrests on the following charges:
Petit larceny
Violation of protection order
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Cancelled call at 3:24 p.m. at Baptist Memorial Hospital
Smoke detector activation at 3:26 p.m. caused by a resident at 407 Turnberry Court
