Bim Bam Burgers Gets a Face Lift with Powder Blue Booths, Digital TVs

Located off of Jackson Avenue West lies a quick style restaurant known for their burgers and wings. Businessowner Tony Barragan took what was formerly known as Christy’s Hamburgers and in June 2013 transformed the burger joint into Bim Bam Burgers.

Three weeks ago, Bim Bam started on renovations to update its facial look, improve kitchen space and to tie in the Ole Miss theme.

The ordering counter is still waiting on a new counter top to match the tables.

“When school is back in session our sales go up dramatically,” said Barragan. “We ran out of cooler room so to expand our kitchen we had to open up the restaurant more. Plus I wanted to add digital TVs and soft serve ice cream like in my other four locations, so everything went hand in hand.”

Prior to the renovation, Bim Bam still centered around Ole Miss memorabilia showcasing autographs from coaches and players. Today it has powder blue booths and chairs seated at wood, vinyl tabletops. The floor is gray and white checkerboard tile. The walls are gray with powder blue trim at the center and baseboards and the ceiling trim is red. The order counter is powder blue as well.

“The new powder blue—I wanted to do a throwback,” said Barragan. “My New Albany location, opening on the 18th, has the same color scheme too. Also, we’ve always had chairs here and now we have booths.”

The new powder blue look is just the beginning for Bim Bam’s facelift. Barragan is waiting on a new counter top to match the table tops, wanting to up the decor with more of the vinyl look and is searching for an art student to help paint the walls.

“I would love to get someone from the art department to get creative in here,” said Barragan. “Let’s do burgers and let’s do Ole Miss, the Grove, mix it up—food and Ole Miss.”

Bim Bam Burger’s is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.

With all the current and future renovations, Barragan still finds that customer service and running a quality restaurant are most important.

“You can put as many nice colors as you want in that restaurant, but if you don’t give good customer service and quality service in there it won’t matter,” said Barragan. “There is nothing like people complimenting us on our food or having repetitive customers. When people come from out of town, we try to treat them just like our Rebel fans.”

Bim Bam Burgers is generally open Monday to Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday to Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and closed on Sundays. However, the restaurant is currently observing summer hours found on their door.
